Several readers have written to ask us about the status of the Micronesian Blues TV series that was in the works. Here's an update...

 

A few years ago, a TV series based on Micronesian Blues was in development with actor Patrick Dempsey's production company, Shifting Gears, and HBO/Cinemax.

 

Unfortunately, the Shifting Gears/Cinemax project didn't move forward. This was disappointing but not unexpected — only a few projects get the green light each year.

 

But Bryan and I remain confident that a TV series or film based on Micronesian Blues will still become a reality with a different production company/studio. The film rights to the book are now available again, and we'll keep you posted when we have good news to share!
